Sunny Day Real Estate “In Circles” (Live on 120 Minutes)
It’s been so long since the first time I saw Sunny Day Real Estate, back in 1994, that I almost forgot just how perfectly imperfect they were before anyone actually cared about them. This clip depicts four kind of dorky kids before they realized they were any good. As soon as they figured out what everyone else already had, they broke up.

What if Hitler had a Twitter account?
This clip explores what might have happened if there were a Twitter-server overload during World War II. Because nothing gets in the way of the Führer and his tweets. (via)

Jay-Z feat. Kanye West “Jockin’ Jay-Z”
Thank God. The last two Jigga albums were bad and better, respectively, so if this is what we can expect from The Blueprint 3 — Oasis diss and all! — then give me a pen because I’m ready to co-sign on it.

The Chemical Brothers “Midnight Madness”
To be frank, house music videos generally bore me. (Except for “Flat Beat,” which is basically the cute ‘n’ furry exception to every rule.) So when Kanye West posted this video up on his blog — saying only, “YOU MUST SEE THIS!!!! HOW DID THEY DO IT??” — I was like, “Oh word?” Dude wasn’t lying.

Christian Falk feat. Robyn & Ola Salo “Dream On”
It’s been a while since I gushed over Robyn, right? Well, I just discovered this album by Christian Falk that she sings on and I’ll be damned if I didn’t fall in love all over again. So don’t resist. I know you love her.

British authors are not as well-read as you’d suspect.
As someone who returned to college after 17 years and is currently neck-deep in Shakespeare, Dickinson, and Yeats — none of which I’d actually read before — I got a huge kick out of this collection of British authors giving sheepish answers to the question “What’s the book you’re most ashamed of never having read?” But special props to the dude who graduated from his prestigious university on the back of a well-received analysis of Wuthering Heights — a book he has still yet to read.

The Notwist “Boneless”
I’m knee deep in Shakespeare right now — long story — so there’s not much time to read anything that doesn’t use the words “thy” or “ere” right now. There is always time for a new video from the Notwist, however, and the second single for The Devil You + Me is “Boneless” — which is apparently a tale about a glue-huffing skater who lives in Mexico. Go figure!

Fonzworth Bentley feat. Kanye West & André 3000 “Everybody”
Everybody’s favorite butler (and future reality TV star) dances like a hood-rat version of Pee-Wee Herman and gets Kanye to sing the hook, but God bless Fonzworth Bentley for giving us a new André 3000 verse that has already overshadowed the upcoming Big Boi solo album.

Unbelievable Truth “Settle Down”
Andy Yorke (yes, his brother) has a solo record coming out in the UK this week. You can stream the album now at Last FM or you can check out this video from Unbelievable Truth — the terribly underrated band he once sang for. If you lost interest in Thom after he discovered Can and Autechre, you’re gonna want to hear this.

The Verve “Love Is Noise”
Admittedly I find something fairly amazing about a band who can make two brilliant records, break up, get back together, make an international hit record, break up again, and then get back together with another brilliant anthem of a single. It’s like The Verve can only exist if there’s a spectre overhead that they’ll never exist again.

The Rock-afire Explosion Movie Trailer.
The Rock-afire Rennaissance has already gone from being a cute Usher video to a documentary feature-film in the time it took Polow Da Don to make “Love In This Club.” The star power that these fuzzy animatronic animals wield is inconceivable.

I’m Not Here to Make Friends!
The best part about this montage is knowing that someone watches more reality TV than me. (No, seriously. I have it under control.) Plus, it’s hilarious. (via)
