How Starbucks lost their way. →

With the recent announcement of the closing of 600 stores, many have blamed the chain of oversaturation in a recession. But David Galbraith thinks it’s deeper than that. “For a long time, Starbucks has effectively been a store selling coffee-flavored desserts,” he notes. “A Venti Chocolate Malt Frappuccino with whipped cream, at 760 calories, is equivalent to a Big Mac and fries.”
