An Illinois mom received a credit card application in her young son’s name and thought it would be funny if she had him fill it out and send it back. The child wrote in his birthday in 2002, his annual income of $0, and the fact that he is neither a homeowner nor a renter. And then he signed his name in the handwriting of a child. Amazingly, his application was processed and approved.
“How can somebody who is an adult who has a job get a credit card denial, and a child who has no income and no assets get one?” asked the boy’s mom. “I would certainly hope they have some sort of review process.”
